“Sona” or “Precious One”, is Qamar’s third song. Like all his music it narrates a story – a story of first love, remembered and cherished.

The first infatuation is something that always remains with one. It is something to be deeply treasured. Many years hence, any memory of the same uplifts the soul. For it was something so pure and unique that it can never quite be replicated. Nothing quite matches the passion of that initial feeling. That overwhelming of senses. That subsuming of all thought and action by the magic of that “first love”.

Qamar Saleem’s latest song “Sona” is a celebration of that unique and memorable experience. As also, of the redeeming and rejuvenating value that it has throughout one’s life. No matter what one’s later experiences – whatever the triumphs and setbacks on the road of love. It matters not whether that infatuation resulted in a union that lasted. Or in any union at all. Why it matters is that it was our first brush with love and characterized by nothing but purity and intensity of emotion. There was no taint. No machination. No motive. No impurity. We must therefore learn to always replicate it whenever we love. With the same purity and intensity of emotion. That is what “Sona” is all about.
