Forrest Hill – Catch The Beat (Official Music Video)” is a powerful song about getting through hard times and overcoming adversity, challenges, and the struggles we face.

This track has an “instantly familiar feel of an upbeat, Paul Simon sing-along with propulsive acoustic strumming; undeniable grooves and percussion touches; electro-pop atmospherics; and hooky songcraft” (press release).

Partially written in 1980 during the Contra War in Nicaragua and then paused for over two decades, Forrest revisited and completed Catch The Beat in 2020 during the start of the BLM George Floyd protests. The inspiration behind the song is a blend of social unrest Forest experienced during two conflicting times in history.

This video is also part of a documentary film that a local San Francisco film maker is doing about my life as an older musician (I’m 65). 🙂
