Diamond Sailor is a story of a young man seeking the world’s treasures, believing that it will provide security and freedom. Instead, he seeks adoration, and fame from others comes with a price. Innocent times are lost when greed and lies are what he ends up finding. Unfortunately, we all lose our way and sometimes take the wrong path, costing us everything.

ALBUM: BEST KEPT SECRET

Nestled along the Canadian border in an upstate NY town, singer-songwriter-guitarist Christian Parker has uncovered his inspiration for writing melodically beautiful songs.

In 2020-2021 during a Covid winter, Christian returned to adding (11) unreleased songs from a collection called Best Kept Secret. This classic vibe album is a weaving tapestry of acoustic & chiming electric guitars with gloriously uplifting choruses, reminiscent of Tom Petty, Neil Finn, and others in the 1960’s songbook of Paul Simon.

The album opens with the single called ‘Weight of the World,’ a song inspired by his 9-year-old daughter. In collaboration with Phil Hurley (Fountains of Wayne, Tracy Bonham) from Austin, TX contributing Beatle-like harmonies and guitar on the album.

Another highlight from the album is ‘Diamond Sailor,’ a song about a man seeking worldly treasure and never being free from the power it holds. It almost sounds like an unreleased John Lennon, Beatles song, or late 1970s Alan Parsons, with Elton John on piano. But, again, Phil Hurley plays a soaring slide guitar making this track come alive!

Best Kept Secret has something for every listener and has a familiar feel. This album is very introspective for Christian and represents an era where many of us arrive.

Diamond Sailor
Alone, on a pale moonrise
Against the wind, you’ll find out why
So long, as the parting tide
Guides your way past fortunes eye
Where are you off to Diamond Sailor?
You traveled the world and the seven seas
Some say you’re after hidden treasure
But this alone won’t set you free
Farewell, to an innocent time
Fame can cost more than the price
For now, just say goodbye
To a world of greed and lies
Where are you off to Diamond Sailor?
You traveled the world and the seven seas
Some say you’re after hidden treasure
But this alone won’t set you free
Yeah, this alone won’t set you free
Yeah, this alone won’t set you free!
