“Everyone, even the most gullible, must have suspected a hoax.”

Nationwide reporter Bernard Clark reports on Ginger Baker – the prodigiously talented but notoriously volatile drummer behind Cream, Blind Faith, Ginger Baker’s Air Force and Baker Gurvitz Army – who has shockingly retired from the music world to breed horses.

Baker was introduced to polo while he was living in Lagos, Nigeria and – much to his surprise – he fell in love with the sport and was enchanted by the horses. For the past two years, Ginger has focused on developing his own polo club – his team, the Dragonflies, have already won the Assam Cup – but his ambition is to create the best polo side in Britain.
